The proposed "Bo-Tax" is gaining momentum in Washington, D.C because citizens are not organized to oppose it. Constituents across our nation can join together to mount a successful campaign against HR 3590. We urge you to take action today!
The "Bo-Tax" is an addition to the Senate health bill aimed at filling a $5.8 billion revenue gap left by Sen. Harry Reid's meausres to scale back a planned levy on high-value insurance plans.
Say NO to Cosmetic Tax!
Even though the tax is supposed to only affect cosmetic "elective procedures" and associated items or treatments like cosmetic implants and teeth whitening, the tax also affects other elective procedures that are chosen by patients for medical and more serious purposes.
Elective procedures paid for out of the patient's pocket are susceptible to this tax and include procedures like the Prophylactic Mastectomy, a serious surgery to remove one or both breasts in order to pre-emptively reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in women with a strong family history of the disease. It would also include procedures like male breast reduction and rhinoplasty.
TAKE ACTION TODAY!
Pass this on to your friends, family, patients and colleagues! Together, we can send a loud messge to our senators!
