A Brow Lift has the ability to minimize wrinkles across the forehead, reduce the lines between the eyes at the bridge of the nose and improve the appearance of frown lines. The goal of a Brow Lift or "Forehead Lift" is to rejuvenate the brow area for a more youthful refreshed look.

Quick Recap: What is a The Brow Lift?

A Brow Lift  (BrowLift) or "Forehead Lift" restores the brow area of the face by removing frown lines or deeper wrinkles between the eyebrows and lifts the skin under the brow such as the lateral hood. A Brow Lift can also sculpt and re-arch the eyebrows, but it cannot improve wrinkles or puffiness and drooping around the eyes themselves - for that, you'd need eyelid surgery, also known as a Blepharoplasty.

Botox Cosmetic® and Injectable fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are also great options for addressing fine lines and wrinkles in the facial areas. Facelifts, facial implants and laser skin resurfacing are also commmon procedures that can be combined with a Brow Lift.

Like most other cosmetic procedures, the Brow Lift can be performed in a variety of ways to meet the needs and goals of a particular patient. A Brow Lift averages between $3000 - $7000 depending on factors such as the surgeon's fee, additional fees and expenses and where the region where procedure is performed.

Types of Browlift

Endoscopic Forehead/Brow Lift - Endoscopic Browlift Surgery offers patients a younger, more rejuvenated facial appearance with less discomfort and is the most current technique used by surgeons today. During an Endoscopic brow Lift, the surgeon makes only a few small incisions just behind the hairlineand inserts a small camera (endoscope) to look beneath the skin. Another surgical instrument is then placed through the other incisions to address the areas that need help. In this kind of Brow Lift excess scalp is not removed but rather shifted back and surgically secured to a new position with sutures or temporary screws. This type of Browlift surgery offers a shorter surgical time, no general anesthesia, less swelling and bruising and a quicker recovery time. Because the procedure uses small incisions behind the hairline, there is less scarring than with other Brow lift techniques.

Did you know? The lateral hood  is the skin and small fat deposit that follows the brow bone and curves over the outter corner of your eye.

The Traditional Forehead Lift - The more traditional Forehead Lift involves one long incision from ear-to-ear that's made along the hairline, within the scalp or along a natural contour of the scalp where it will be least noticeable. The simplest brow lift procedure to perform, the conventional forehead lift allows a surgeon to lift the forehead skin and tissue, remove or reposition muscle and tighten and reposition the skin. Excess skin is trimmed, the incision is stitched or sutured closed and the head bandaged. Being the more invasive technique, this type of Browlift has a longer recovery time and a higher risk of complication and side effects, which can range from swelling and bruising, to unusual sensations and numbness of the scalp, reactions to anesthesia and possible hair loss. Of the two techniques, the conventional Browlift offers more permanent and dramatic results.
