You should see a more pleasing contour of your body immediately after liposuction surgery. Swelling and bruising will make the results of liposuction seem minimal at first, but as recovery progreesses the reduction of swelling and bruising will give way to a more slender shape. Scars from liposuction are small and should begin to fade with a few weeks following surgery. Don't expect a dramatic alteration to your weight and appearance as liposuction is not a substitute for significant weight loss.

Starting or maintaining a healthy diet and more active lifestyle following liposuction will help improve and maintain the new shape of your body.

The final results of a liposuction procedure are usually visible several months after surgery. It takes time for swelling to fully subside, skin to tighten and for the body to adjust to its new form.
