Thigh Lift

What to Expect After Surgery

After your procedure, your doctor or nurse will place small drainage tubes to remove the excess liquid that will accumulate at the incision sites. These drainage tubes will be removed later on during an outpatient procedure, once the amount of liquid output is at an acceptable level. You will most likely also be given compression garments to wear to reduce swelling and promote the correct healing and shaping of the operated area. You may be given some pain medication to deal with any initial pain following the procedure. It is important to follow your doctor’s post-operative instructions. This helps to ensure proper healing, to reduce possibility of infection, and to achieve the best aesthetic results.

While some initial swelling and bruising may occur, the results from your thigh lift will be visible almost immediately, with final results developing over several months. Visible scars will remain, but the appearance will diminish with time. Normally, these scars will be in an area that you will be able to hide with a bathing suit.
