Microdermabrasion
What happens after meeting your doctor?
Prior to your treatment, your doctor will provide you with preparation instructions and recommend that you avoid sun exposure. You’ll be asked to discontinue the use of topical creams and treatments such as Retin-A.
Microdermabrasion is a quick procedure that only takes 30-45 minutes to perform. On the day of your treatment, your doctor, his or her RN or a licensed aesthetician in the office will perform the Microdermabrasion treatment. During the procedure a device gently abrades the surface of the skin using a fine crystal spray. This crystal spray is typically comprised of aluminum oxide crystals, sodium bi carbonate crystals, diamond-tipped crystals, or salt crystals.
